Look out Mountain West, here comes TCU

It looks like TCU is benefiting from its great season. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram has a nice story on the Horned Frogs class this year.

The Horned Frogs landed 19 recruits, inlcuding 17 from the state of Texas. But the biggest name is from Louisiana. Defensive back Curtis Carter is a four-star athlete that orginally committed to Nebraska. That's a great find for a defense that will lose five starters after next season.

Michigan on the way back up?

The Rich Rodriguez era hasn't been kind to Michigan fans, but things might be changing in Ann Arbor.

MaxPreps.com sees a big class is coming with three Top 100 players slated and a potential Top 10 recruiting class despite losing Sean Parker to Washington. Parker one of the top cornerbacks in the nation, surprised everybody by choosing the Huskies.

The best news of the day was signing Demar Dorsey. One of the best defensive backs in the country was deciding between Florida State, Michigan and USC.

Bleacher Report: Washington scores with Parker

UCLA making some great steals

Can UCLA become a major player in the Pac-10? Time will tell, but it is making a good impression today.

The biggest news coming out of Los Angeles is the signing of Giovanni DiPaolo. One of the Top 10 offensive guards in the nation originally signed with USC, but switched to UCLA today.

Another player that was reported going to sign with USC -- Jordan Zumwalt -- decided to sign with UCLA today too.

At a live press conference from his high school, Owamagbe Odighizuwa is also headed to UCLA. Odighizuwa is ranked No. 41 overall by MaxPreps.com. He had narrowed his selctions down to the Bruins, Nebraska and Oregon State.

If the Bruins keep this up, they should easily end up with a Top 20 signing class.

Florida State picking up top players

Jimbo Fisher is doing a great job in his first recruiting class and is picking up some big names today.

Dan Foose signed with Florida State after early reports had him going to Illinois and the Seminoles also landed one of the top linebackers in the nation in Christian Jones.

Add in those two with Lamarcus Joyner and Jeff Luc and Florida State might find itself in the Top 15 recruiting classes by the end of the day.

Alabama's Fax Cam

Don't tell the people in Tuscaloosa that Signing Day doesn't matter.

Alabama is broadcasting a live video of ... the FAX machine (thanks to CBS College Sports XXL).

The video has me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to hear that annoying sound when a FAX comes in.

Who could it be? A new linebacker? The next great running back?

Damn, it's just an advertisement for a 1.5 percent mortgage over 30 years.

Update (11:20 p.m. ET): They took the FAX cam down! Maybe he was tired and needed a nap. We'll keep an eye on this throughout the day to see if Mr. FAX gets back in front of the camera. I miss him already.

Update (8:40 p.m. ET): I checked back throughout the entire day and Alabama never put the video back up. But we are trying hard to get some archived video of it. I know the users are just dying to see what a FAX machine looks like in the Alabama athletic department.

USC snags another huge recruiting class

Who needs Pete Carroll?

Things are looking up at USC again on Signing Day as the Trojans are primed for another big recruiting class. MaxPreps.com has USC in its Top 5 with a haul of six players ranked in the MaxPreps.com Top 100 and four High School All-Americans.

Robert Woods is the No. 6 ranked player, while Kyle Prater is ranked No. 19. The Trojans also got some more good news this morning, as Markeith Ambles signed with USC after giving a verbal to Tennessee last year.

And at 5:30 p.m. live on CBS College Sports, USC got a commitment from No. 1 recruit Seantrel Henderson. The offensive lineman, who was MaxPreps.com's top-rated player, picked the Trojans over Minnesota, Notre Dame, Florida, Miami and Ohio State.

You can watch USC's Signing Day news conference today at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS College Sports XXL.
